What is it?

Ophthalmology is the medical service responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases related to the eyes and the tissue close to them. In our Hospital we are focused on the care of patients with complex eye diseases and/or who have ocular trauma.

We work together with Optometry to provide treatment of visual defects and medical surgical treatment of eye diseases.

Diagnosis and treatment of

  • Hospitalized patient.
  • Eye trauma patient.

Reconstructive eye surgery

  • Tear duct pathology.
  • Orbit reconstruction.

Oculoplastic oncology and orbit: Responsible for everything related to eye tumors and periorbital tissue, the last mentioned covers the orbit, eyelids and other tissues in this zone.

Glaucoma: It is the third cause for loss of vision, a disease that affects the optic nerve  increasing intraocular pressure, however it is asymptomatic. It must have an early detection to avoid a non-repairable injury.

Pediatric ophthalmology: Treatment of ophthalmological diseases in patients up to 15 years old.

Strabology: Treatment of diseases or traumas that cause ocular deviations.

Retina and Vitreous: Diseases that affect the back of the eye, an extension of the central nervous system. These diseases affect direct or indirect retinal injury due to systemic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension.
